I went to college for chemical engineering and came out with a degree in Graphic Design 6 years later. I can't really pinpoint the switch to one reason, but I think I just got scared of the possibility of killing people by pressing the wrong button. Bad design can kill people too, but I think it's a bit harder, so here I am.

I spilled mercury in front of the only women's restroom in Gleeson Hall... 3 stories up. The commentary I heard from outside the lab once people reached the top to see a closed restroom made me think hard about my choices.

After exploring obscure science references and symbols, the element-bond structure just felt right. The elements D, A, & N could be combined with any 4th element, say P for Portfolio, for example.

Use of different materials for every product made the identity feel tactile and sciency. Everything from my old Ochem notes (as stuffing) to vintage, hand-painted flask vases (for thank you gifts) felt considered to who I am as a designer. The business cards of which there are 2, yes 2, unveil information in different ways – one through physical pulling and the other through warmth with thermochromatic pigment.
